products, each professionally tested for purity and effectiveness. “We
stock only the highest quality cannabis products and maintain close
relationships with suppliers.” They even have staff members referred
to as “Cannatechs” who personally and professionally test every new
product that Plantacea brings in for firsthand knowledge of its effects.
Talk about a dream job.
Cannabis is a booming industry, the likes of which we’ve yet to really
see, and the marketplace is also constantly changing for consumers.
Cannatechs attend weekly training sessions, stay up to date with
monthly seminars by a professor from Oaksterdam University, and are
routinely tested with product familiarity, state and local regulations,
and company policy.
Over the years, the Solis’ have noticed that their customers seem to
have something in common—they’re happy! “We noticed a trend;
people who use this plant tend to be a generally happy bunch,” Maurice
explained. “We thought that there’s got to be some type of a science
to it, so we hired a cognitive neuroscientist from Stanford to help us
with the study.” At this writing, they’ve submitted their preliminary
study for peer review.
A past survey from 400 randomly selected Plantacea patients
supports the couple’s theory, with 96% reporting that they were
“somewhat happy” to “very happy,” so take that as you will. Research
sheds light on why people use cannabis, with the following top four
reasons: stress management, pain management, mental health, and
mood enhancement.
Maurice credits Vallejo for the success he and Anh have had with
Plantacea over the years. It’s been so successful that it led to a second
location in Seaside (near Monterey), which recently celebrated its first
full year of operations.
“We thank the Vallejo community for being so supportive of our
work,” Maurice shared. “Community is everything in this city, and
we are happy and blessed to be a part of it. We could not have done
it without you, Vallejo!”
Plantacea and the Solis’ have certainly become a part of the Vallejo
community that has embraced them with open arms. For instance,
Maurice recently completed two years as Treasurer for the Vallejo
Chamber of Commerce. He and Anh have also supported numerous
organizations throughout the city like the Vallejo Pioneers, the Will
of God Christian Center, Faith Food Fridays, the Robby Poblete
Foundation, and many more.
